based upon the player’s areas of improvement. Drills will cover offensive,
defensive and midfield concepts.

Lessons are available in a one on one format for 60 minutes.

Group lessons are also offered for two to four athletes for 60 minutes.

Why recruiting consulting?

Playing on a club team is the best way to be seen by college coaches; however, not every player receives the proper advice and instruction needed to navigate the recruiting process. I truly believe that there is a collegiate program for every lacrosse player who wants to compete at that level. Players and families need to be appropriately educated on the various options at all levels (Division I, II, & III) and take into consideration that there is a right academic and athletic fit for each prospect.

The recruiting process is a business exchange in which the athlete must appropriately show her talent and advocate for herself. Coaches are looking for players to make an immediate impact on their collegiate programs, and their team’s success is often times based on the athletic ability of incoming recruits. Women’s lacrosse has become extremely competitive with many more players playing the game all over the country. This significant increase has provided a bigger pool of athletes to choose from for college coaches, and in turn, left prospective student-athletes having to work harder and promote themselves during the recruiting process.

The NCAA has rules in place that prevent communication between recruits and coaches without the use of a third party. As a recruiting consultant, I would serve as the middle man to gain and exchange information that otherwise might not be communicated between college coach and prospective player. Given my past experience, I am comfortable asking the tough questions, such as, “Where is she on your list?” or “Is she a scholarship candidate?” In my tenure, coaching at the college, club, and high school levels, and assisting athletes through the recruiting process, I developed relationships with many of the college coaches nationwide. I speak honestly with them and they are able to be more direct with me then they may otherwise be with a student-athlete.

College coaches are not allowed to email a prospect directly until September 1st of their junior year. They may not call a player until July 1st after their junior year, when most players are already committed. To ease the stress of NCAA restrictions, I am able to facilitate and set up phone calls, visits to campus, and other necessary communications. In order to stay on a coach’s recruiting list, some players need an advocate so that they can communicate with coaches who are lining up new recruiting classes at increasingly earlier stages of an athlete’s career.

The recruiting process can be extremely overwhelming with many aspects to manage if an athlete and her family are not given the appropriate knowledge, tools, and assistance to navigate the system. As a consultant, I serve as an organizer and communicator who provides feedback to help student-athletes stay on track and educated throughout the process.
